Belated, Congratulations to over 1,085 newly recruited Corrections Officers who take oath on July 15, 2024, at around 3:00 PM.

In an event scheduled for Monday, July 15, 2024, at 3:00 pm, 1,085 newly recruited Corrections Officer 1 (CO1) personnel are poised to officially pledge their service at the various Operating Prisons and Penal Farms of the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor).

After successfully navigating through a rigorous selection and screening process by the BuCor Recruitment, Selection, and Placement Section, these recruits are set to join the ranks of the nation’s custodial personnel. The selection process emphasized qualities such as integrity, innovativeness, vigilance, and a strong adherence to God-fearing principles.

Of the total number, 200 recruits are from Davao Prison and Penal Farm, 200 from Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm, 100 from San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm, 140 from Leyte Regional Prison, and 96 from Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm. The largest contingent of 349 individuals from New Bilibid Prison – National Headquarters (NBP-NHQ) is slated to take their oath at the Sunken Garden Parade Ground of NBP-NHQ in Muntinlupa City.

In a notable addition, one non-uniformed personnel member will also partake in the oath-taking ceremony in the capacity of supervising admin officer.

BuCor Director General GREGORIO PIO P CATAPANG JR., AFP (Ret.), CESE, CCLH, will preside over the oath-taking ceremony, affirming the commitment of these new officers to uphold the highest standards of public service.

The ceremony marks a significant milestone for the recruits and the Bureau of Corrections as it strengthens its workforce to meet the challenges in corrections and rehabilitation in the country.
